What is Tough Viking

Tough Viking was the first launched obstacle race in Sweden and we only perform races at the best venues such as the royal parks and the Olympic stadium in Stockholm and the finest city park in Gothenburg. We also only deliver the best and greatest obstacles. Our heritage comes from the Swedish armed elite forces such as Kustjägarna, Fallskärmsjägarna and Röjdykarna. We welcome you to our world!

What’s Included:
Entry to the OCRWC Open Class race.

Preparation Tips:
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate athletic clothing.
OCR-specific shoes are highly recommended for better grip on obstacles and muddy terrain.
Bring a change of clothes for after the race.

Not feeling ready to tackle all the obstacles? No problem! The Open Classes are all about participation and fun, so take on as much of the course as you’re comfortable with. There will be plenty of encouragement along the way.

General Rules
Registration is non-refundable and non-deferrable.
Name changes allowed for SEK195 until August 25th.
On-site transfers are not possible to do.
Valid registration/ticket is required to compete. Violations result in disqualification and ticket price claims.
As you sing up for the race, you choose an open start time. Tough Viking can change the stated starting time if needed.

Short Course Open: Minimum age 10 years (on race day)
Standard Course Open: Minimum age 16 years (31/12/2025)

If you are under the age of 18 a waiver must be signed by a caregiver and brought to check in to get your start number. This waiver form will be provided during registration. You can also find it for download here.
Without a signed waiver we can not hand out your start number. No refunds are given.

Q: Can I participate if I’m new to OCR?
A: Absolutely! The Open Classes are designed for all skill levels. You don’t need any prior OCR experience to join.

Q: Do I have to complete every obstacle?
A: No, the Open Classes are about having fun and doing your best. Feel free to skip obstacles if needed!

Q: Can I register on race day?
A: On-site registration may be available if the spots are not sold out, but we strongly recommend registering in advance to secure your place.

Q: Number bibs and Time chips
Be sure to arrive at the venue on time to claim your start kit, which includes your time chip.

  • Bring a valid ID.
  • Each participant must collect their own start kit personally.
  • The time chip must be securely attached to your right ankle for accurate timing.

Q: How do I make changes – Team name or participant info
If you need to make changes, here’s what to do:

  • Race form (team or individual) or team name changes: Email us at [email protected].
  • Transfer your starting spot to someone else: Click here to initiate the transfer process.
  • The transfer fee of 195 SEK must be paid by the person receiving the starting spot.
  • All changes must be completed no later than one week before race day.

Q: How do I add a new team member
To add new members to your team:

  1. Locate your team in the team list during the sign-up process.
  2. Add yourself when signing up for the race. Choose to compete individually or as part of the team in the sign-up system.

Important:
If your starting group is already full, additional team members cannot join. In this case, the entire team must switch to a starting group with available spots, and then new members can join the team.
We cannot over-fill starting groups, as this impacts the experience for all participants.

Q: What is the open class
Participate as an individual or as a team:

  • Categories: Men, Women, and Mixed Teams.
  • A team must consist of at least four members, and the best four times will count toward the team’s final result.
  • Every team member will also receive their individual time.

Q: Do I get a time
You can treat this event as a race and aim for the fastest possible time, or simply focus on completing the course and enjoying the experience—it’s up to you!

  • Your start kit includes a time chip, which should be attached to your right ankle.

Q: How do I find my way around the course
The course is well-marked with strips, making it easy to follow.

  • If you’re unsure or need advice on tackling obstacles, feel free to ask our Obstacle Captains stationed around the course.
  • Maps of the course will also be available online and in the starting area.
